THE BIM TEAM
Our Building Information Modeling (BIM) team maximizes pre-construction efforts by visually defining a project prior to construction so that conflicts are identified early, and adjustments are made with minimal impact. From field sketches to BIM, installation drawings and as-builts, we get the job done right and provide the highest-level of BIM documentation each project needs.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The BIM Operator 2 will interact significantly with others on the Engineering team, Project Management, Field Superintendents, and takes direction from project personnel and/or the BIM Coordinator. The scope of this role includes creating 3D model based off red lines from either BIM Coordinator or Field team, developing 2D installation drawings and detail drawings from 3D model or sketches.
This role is remote from home.

Prints documents and helps keep drawings up to date while archiving older drawingsHelps set up project and keeps it maintainedKeeps a daily log on tasks being performedPerform QA/QC of own work and the work of others on the project including drawings and model, based off standards and best practices Download and upload files when needed to keep project currentABOUT YOU
You bring over five years of experience in the electrical construction industry and have proficiency in the work of a drafter/CAD operator and modeler. When it comes to new software and training on electrical constructability, you come ready to learn. You’ll be expected to develop and maintain BIM standards across the team. Your experience includes the ability to perform 3D modeling at an advanced level and troubleshooting software. A natural when it comes to communication and a collaborator when in a team setting, you bring organizational skills and a strong work ethic.
WHAT YOU WILL GAIN
As a Senior BIM Operator at Cupertino Electric, you’ll be part of the team team that visually defines our projects. In this role, your contributions will make a direct impact on building our complex construction related electrical projects. You can expect to work with employees across the organization from project managers to the field team. In addition to growing your expertise, you’ll be given opportunities to train your peers on 3D modeling and 2D drafting in line with our standards and best practices.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that, in the sole judgment and discretion of Company, would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications may qualify.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required. BA/BS preferred.
Licensure/Certifications: None required.
Experience: 2 - 4 years’ experience using Revit and AutoCAD regarding 2D drawings. 2+ years’ experience using Revit and AutoCAD regarding 3D population. 2+ years’ experience using Navisworks Manage and can run clash detection effectively.
