What You Will Do

 

Gannett Fleming is currently seeking a BIM Engineering Technology Manager with a high level of building information modeling (BIM) / virtual design and construction (VDC) experience in transportation and infrastructure projects.

 

As BIM Manager you will create, manage, and protect our digital infrastructure. 

 

Responsibilities 

 

Project Coordination / Management (65%)

Project Capture

Resume will be managed and used to capture work Identify project and client requirements / standards Responsible for identifying best software(s) to leverage during the pursuit of a project Help identify and assign key digital staff Help identify potential project risks  Setup/manage project CDE

Project Coordination

Supports collaboration among multiple stakeholders, such as engineers, surveyors, and contractors, allowing them to work on the same model concurrently and reducing errors.Integrate projects with various data sources, including GIS, to enhance the contextual accuracy of road designs by incorporating real-world environmental data. Establish workflows for transfer of data, QAQC procedures for that process and responsibilitie Be that link between GF, Subs, Contractor, and Client (POC for those meetings)

Project Management

 

Develop project implementation plan (Folder structure, Project BIM Execution Plan) Initiate optimization tools which allows project users to use powerful analysis features for examining aspects like drainage, earthworks, and geometric design. It helps engineers optimize road alignments and profiles to meet project specifications efficiently. Coordinate project kickoff meetings and future coordination meetings Troubleshoot all project related technical issues. Assist project designers to use a model-centric workflow, where all design components are integrated into a 3D model, enabling more accurate visualization and analysis

Be the trusted advisor for your regional Business Group and Project ManagersBe able to communicate best practices when it comes to project capture and staffing.Be actively involved in Business Group technical working groupsWork with Transportation Digital Delivery Team to advance Business Group’s Digital Delivery initiativesWork with Business Development & Marketing groups to advance Business Group InitiativesWeb, literature, interviews, presenting at relevant client-focused conferencesFuture BIM/Revit industry initiatives and developmentsIdentify trends and business opportunities relating to BIM. Evaluate and make recommendations regarding BIM software

 

Mentorship (10%)

Support

Provide hardware and network support as it relates to BIM production on projects. Support the BIM technology needs of our satellites offices. Troubleshoot problems on projects. Training Pinnacle (Technical Learning Platform) Conduct internal training to staff as it pertains to new policies and procedures establish through GF and the Business Group Evaluate the BIM knowledge of potential new hires (Technical / Jr Engineers)

Standards

 

Responsible for BIM Standards development, implementation, and enforcement

Using Client or GF Standards Assist in developing and enforcing BIM documentation and project workflows Provide Quality Control Reviews of digital deliveries to the project client Assist Project Workload Assist project team with modeling, detailing, sheet management as needed

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of experience in the construction industry with at least 3 years in a BIM-focused role. Experience managing complex, multidisciplinary projects in a BIM environment. Proficiency in BIM authoring platforms from Bentley Systems (e. OpenRoads, OpenBridge, etc.) Proficiency in ProjectWise Understanding of 3D, 4D, and 5D BIM processes, including clash detection, scheduling, and quantity take-offs. Knowledge of ISO 19650 and other relevant BIM Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot technical challenges. Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, ACC, Synchro, and Civil3D Bachelor's or Master's degree in architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related industry experience.
