Housing and Shelter Services Program Manager, NY Volunteers of America Upstate New York is seeking a passionate and dynamic human services professional to join our leadership team. The Program Manager/Senior Case Manager will play a critical role in advocating for and supporting vulnerable individuals and families, including homeless individuals and families, low-income individuals, veterans, and those who have been previously incarcerated. This role involves direct service delivery as well as overseeing the operations and staff within our Binghamton programs, ensuring high-quality services and positive outcomes. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES + Assist the Program Director in managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of our Binghamton-based programs. + Support the Program Director with oversite of the Binghamton programs including onboarding, training and ongoing support for a team of Case Managers and Resident Assistants to ensure trauma informed and person centered supportive services are provided in the programs + Provide leadership, supervision, and support to a dedicated team of case managers and direct service staff. Ensure proper scheduling and reporting to meet program goals + Deliver direct program services to clients, including case management, housing assistance, and referrals to community resources. + Maintain accurate records for all program participants in accordance with VOA guidelines and relevant regulatory, agency and funding source standards. + Availability to work evenings and weekends as applicable to the department’s environment. + Respond to and provide support for crisis and other urgent matters in the programs. + Work closely with community partners, local government agencies, and other service providers to coordinate care and improve service delivery + Other duties as requested to benefit client and programs + Other responsibilities as assigned. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS + Bachelors Degree in a Human Services field or 5 years experience working in a human services position + Minimum of three years experience managing staff preferred + Strong organization and written and verbal communication skills + Knowledge of best practices in homeless services + Availability to work evenings and weekends when required and respond in person to emergency situations + Ability to pass criminal background check + Experience using Outlook, Word and Excel + NYS Drivers License + COVID 19 Vaccination VOA provides comprehensive benefits for eligible employees including: + Competitive Pay + Paid Time Off + Health, Dental, Vision Insurance + Company Paid Life & LTD Insurance + 403(b), & more!
