DescriptionThe successful candidate will provide hands-on experience in analytical method development and validation and the ability to interpret complex data sets. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to execute trials, tests, and experiments, ensuring a deep understanding of equipment, processes, and products. Responsibilities include scaling chemical and analytical processes to maximize efficiency, conducting experiments, and working with vendors to develop new processes that reduce costs and enhance product quality. The Biochemical Process Engineer will also support existing projects related to freeze-drying, buffer/master mix formulations, and oligonucleotide manufacturing. Familiarity with chemistry, molecular biology, biochemistry, PCR, process automation, and manufacturing scale-up is essential. The Biochemical Process Engineer will regularly meet with management to discuss projects and department goals. This position will not normally receive specific instruction for routine tasks and is expected to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. This position may receive general instructions on new assignments, when needed.What You'll Do: Conduct trials, tests, and experiments to support engineering, manufacturing, and R&D activities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to develop innovative process formulas and technologies. Establish equipment specifications and improve manufacturing techniques, leveraging your expertise in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, enzymology, PCR, and process automation. Support project needs related to freeze-drying, buffer/master mix formulations, and oligonucleotide manufacturing. Operate in compliance with company policies, communicate with vendors, and generate technical documentation. What you need to be successful:Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field5+ years of directly related experience OR a higher-level degree with less experience. Experience in an FDA-regulated industry, process engineering, analytical chemistry, PCR, or manufacturing scale-up. Exceptional collaboration, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.What makes you a standout:Expertise in purification and analytical chemistry.Experience in oligonucleotide manufacturing. Additional Information:Comfortable wearing PPE correctly throughout the day including wearing a Purifying Air Personal Respirator (PAPR) and operating heavy machinery.Domestic travel required approximately 10% of the time, and international travel required approximately 5% of the time. #LI-US #biojobs
