Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent and two years of experience working in a least one of the following industrial/commercial trade craft: Plumbing, Mechanical, HVAC, Structural, Instrumentation/Electronics, Refrigeration, Electronics/Fire Alarms. Must be able to successfully complete the following:
Job Summary:
Monitors BSL-4 operations (entering and exits) from the biocontainment control room using the camera and building automation systems. Responsible for providing work in the maintenance, certification, and operation on Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3), Animal Biosafety Level 3 (ABSL-3), Enhanced Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3E) and Biosafety Level 4 (BSL-4) facilities to ensure regulatory compliance.
Job Duties:
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:
Standard hospital, clinical, laboratory and/or office environments. May be exposed to such occupational hazards such as communicable diseases and harmful chemicals. Some exposure to weather and physical hazards. Exposure to mechanical and electrical hazards and may be required to work in high locations or crawlspaces. Exposure to areas under construction. Usual working conditions found in craft shops and mechanical rooms. Exposure to adverse weather conditions or temperature extremes. Exposure to electrical/mechanical hazards. Proper safety and precaution must be closely observed when operating and repairing specialized equipment and systems. Climb ladders and stairways and work on building rooftops of high elevation. Work in confined spaces such as ceilings, under floor crawlspaces, and manholes. May be required to work extended hours or rotating shifts.MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:
