Biofuels Analyst - North America - Decatur, IL
This is a full time, exempt position
Main Function:
This position conducts research and analysis on US Biofuels directly supporting the North America teams and various global ADM business units. The analyst will be expected to reach an expert level of knowledge regarding US Biofuels Supply and Demand. The work will not only focus on North American Biofuels but will also include in-depth analysis of government policy. The individual will be able to find, analyze and communicate implications of both market and non-market factors from economic data, trends and market conditions.
The successful candidate for this Analyst position will be part of the Economic Research team that actively guides, shapes, and advocates for company positions on Global Markets. This position will focus on climate policy, renewable energy policy, and legislative policy. The Analyst will be responsible for staying up to date on key policy discussions across several venues, such as the California Air Resources Board (CARB), and the state and federal legislative bodies, and maintaining a consistent voice across advocacy venues.
The Analyst will work on multiple initiatives at a time and coordinate daily with the Global Economic team on energy and climate policy issues. This position will also involve partnering with other teams throughout the company in the development of analyses and written materials supporting ADM’s opinion, gathering relevant information and market data, and analyzing related state and federal legislative and policy proposals. As needed, the Policy Analyst may also be tasked with special projects related to emerging or complex energy policy topics.
This role analyzes and communicates results in support of the company’s trading, commercial, finance and other teams.
The position is based in Decatur, IL and will report to the Director Global Biofuels and Vegetable Oils, Economic Research..
Description of Work Performed:Regular written and oral updates on American and global markets, forecasts and special reports on topical issuesWork with the team to integrate data and market updates into evolving data management and presentation system(s)Provide support to various colleagues to include making presentations, assisting with presentation preparation, data support, analytical reviews and other support, as neededAssist the team with continuous best practice improvement Knowledge & Skills:A bachelor’s degree in economics, international business or related subject; Master’s degree preferred5-10 years of energy and or biofuel energy industry experienceKnowledge of global agricultural marketsAbility to work with and analyze multivariable models and to think globallyWorking knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Access along with basic statistical methodsEffective communicator (written and verbal) with the ability to tailor messages based on diverse audiencesProven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organization as well as within external organizationsExcellent organizational and time management skillsDemonstrated ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlinesExcited about this role but don’t think you meet every requirement listed?
