Join our client as a_ **_Bioinformatics Analyst_** _and be part of a dynamic team at the forefront of genomics research!_ ****This job is remote working in PST zone**** **Job Type:** 6-month contract **Pay rate:** $40/ hr.- $50/ hr. **Key Responsibilities:** + Process and analyze high-throughput sequencing data from various platforms (e.g., Illumina, PacBio) for DNA-Seq, RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, and other genomic assays + Design, automate, and optimize bioinformatics workflows and pipelines using tools such as GATK, STAR, DESeq2, and others to improve efficiency and reproducibility of analyses + Interpret and analyze genetic variation, gene expression, and functional genomics data to identify potential biomarkers or genetic drivers of disease + Integrate genomic data with other omics datasets (e.g., transcriptomics, proteomics) to derive comprehensive biological insights + Perform statistical analyses including differential expressions, pathway analysis, and gene set enrichment using tools like DESeq2, edgeR, and Limma to identify significant biological patterns + Prepare detailed data analysis reports, visualizations, and summaries, presenting findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders + Customize existing bioinformatics tools and evaluate new algorithms, methodologies, and tools to enhance data analysis workflows **Qualifications:** + Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, Computer Science, or a related field. A Ph.D. is a plus but not required + Minimum of 2 years of experience in bioinformatics analysis, preferably in a genomics or biotechnology setting + Proficiency in bioinformatics tools such as GATK, BWA, SAMtools, BEDTools, STAR, DESeq2, edgeR, and others + Strong experience with high-throughput sequencing technologies (NGS) and genomic data analysis (RNA-Seq, DNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq) + Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and/or Bash/Shell scripting + Experience with bioinformatics platforms like Galaxy or Bioconductor is a plus + Familiarity with statistical analysis methods for gene expression analysis and pathway analysis **Additional Skills (Preferred):** + Experience with multi-omics integration, including transcriptomics and proteomics. + Knowledge of genomic databases such as 1000 Genomes, dbSNP, ClinVar, and other public genomic resources. + Familiarity with cloud computing or high-performance computing environments is a plus.
