Do you enjoy applying your bioinformatics knowledge on practical assignments within the field of neuroscience? Do you like integrating multifaceted data to put together the puzzle of brain diseases? If you are a creative scientist, ready to contribute to advancements in bioinformatics for neuroscience drug discovery, you might be our new Bioinformatics Scientist!
Your new role
You will be one of our bioinformatics experts bringing your unique experience for projects from early target discovery to exploratory biomarkers in clinical trials. You will provide your deep knowledge and expertise in analyzing, visualizing and combining our various datasets, to extract deeper understanding and answer questions relevant for our projects. You will leverage your experience in systems biology and data science methods to generate actionable biological insights. Collaborating with other scientists, you will enhance the understanding of biological targets and diseases.
You will also have the opportunity to expand your knowledge within neuroscience drug discovery, and further develop through an ongoing focus on individual development to ensure your growth as a professional in the field of drug discovery.
Your future team
Bioinformatics is a part of Experimental Medicine, an exciting area straddling the line between Research and Clinical Development. Our team takes pride in the role we have across the drug development value chain where we work to derive insights from our biological data and provide our innovative thinking to move projects forward. Each member of the team is an expert in their area but together we make real insights for our projects and collaborate across the R&D field. We work on a mix of: project support, data analysis on the experimental results from our pipelines, and develop our own projects spanning across the various areas. We speak python, R, Shiny, Streamlit and operate mostly in the Cloud. We are helpful, collaborative and make sure we enjoy our time interacting with others.
The position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark and is not a remote opportunity.
What you bring to the team
You have a PhD in Bioinformatics, Data Science or similar, or you have a significant amount of experience and proven skills in the field and are comfortable with relevant bioinformatics software tools that you wield with your comprehensive and effective coding skills.
You have extensive hands-on expertise and deep understanding of bioinformatics (omics) datasets and methods; experience in applying AI based approaches and understanding of knowledge graphs is beneficial.
Experience within neuroscience or other life sciences involving brain research is beneficial, but not required. You should have a strong biological understanding and good scientific reasoning.
Previous industry experience is beneficial, but we welcome candidates from all backgrounds who can contribute to our team.
Some of the traits we value in candidates are innovative, curious, creative, analytical, and proactive.
You are a team player, willing to collaborate with other functions and work well within your own team
