We are searching for a talented and self-driven Bioinformatics Software Engineer II to join our computational team in the newly established Computational Immuno-Oncology Shared Resource (CIOSR), a key pillar in MSK’s immuno-oncology transformation where they will focus on establishing computational support for immune monitoring and also expanding broader IO efforts. You will be working closely with engineers, computational biologists, and researchers.
The CIOSR will provide both computational support while also recommending a set of options for in house and standard MSK pipelines to generate enhanced datasets. Examples of supported assays are flow cytometry analysis, bulk and single cell T-cell and B-cell receptor sequencing analysis and clone tracking, to name a few. You will be responsible for designing a data architecture to leverage and integrate in house immuno-oncology datasets, visualizing and interpreting data for a varied userbase, and implementing modern AI workflows.
Role Overview:
• Implement and follow the best practices in data management, data architecture, and system testing.
• Take part in technical discussion including but not limited to code reviews, and build/release management.
• Work with the software team to implement in house and standard pipeline in the immuno-oncology space.
• Gather and evaluate user requirements, in collaboration with product managers and developers.
• Participate in design, development, and support of cutting-edge multi-tiered full-stack software systems for research use.
Key Qualifications:
• Master’s in Computer Science or related field with 2+ years’ experience OR PhD (preferred).
• Experience with full-stack development using technologies like Python, Java, Flask, Spring, MySQL, MongoDB, ReactJS, AngularJS, or Node.js.
• Experience in containerization using Docker is desirable.
• Familiarity with Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ZeroMQ is a plus.
• Experience in building scalable systems (cloud or on-prem, Kubernetes) and working with machine learning/AI tools (PyTorch is a plus).
Core Skills:
• Expertise in data management, architecture, and system testing.
• Experience with full-stack development and deployment, including automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and resilience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and external stakeholders.
• Experience with UI design and machine learning tools is a plus.

Pay Range: $98,500.00-$157,600.00.
