The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a dedicated and experienced Biology Live Technician.
Associate must receive, evaluate, and process living or non-living raw material into finished product. Perform quality control check on final product, adhering to departmental standards. Performance will be assessed based upon the quality of the finished product and the efficiency of its manufacture. Answer customer service questions and provide technical support. Tasks may include some warehousing, inventory control, and other indirect tasks.

This role will be a full-time position base out of West Henrietta, NY.

What we’re looking for 

Education: Minimum bachelor’s degree in biology, Earth Science, Environmental Science, or other related degree or equivalent experience.Experience: Experience in the field a plus.

Familiarity with Windows7.Ability to manipulate data and create documents is needed on an occasional basis.SAP (optional). Ability to receive and confirm goods, run queries, perform basic look-up functions if licensed to run SAP.

 Receive and evaluate the quality of raw materials.Plan course of action to satisfy production and quality goals. Many procedures are multi-stepped and require fastidious adherence to directions.Manufacture product in accordance with standard operating procedures.Perform quality control check on final product.Maintain order and supply lab space with appropriate materials.Understand and adhere to regulatory guidelines regarding hazardous material.Participate in recycling program and maintenance of shared machinery.Work on departmental projects.Answer applicable customer service or technical support queries.Other tasks as assigned.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)

Typically works in either a warehouse environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a seasonally variable range of temperature and noise level, or a lab environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.

Personal protective equipment in the form of eye, ear, body, foot, and hand protection required with certain tasks.  

Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.

A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.

Some physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10lbs, but occasionally over 50lbs.

Work is repetitious. Efforts are made to mitigate repetitive motion through interchangeable personnel and cross-training.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$37,500.00 - $62,400.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
