Biopharma Business Development Manager - West

Hologic Diagenode is an international biotech company that develops and commercializes innovative instruments, reagents systems, and services for life science research and molecular diagnostics.

As a leader in the field of epigenetics, Hologic Diagenode provides full solutions for chromatin immunoprecipitation and DNA methylation research. Our products include DNA shearing instruments (Bioruptor®, Megaruptor®), kits for chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP), DNA methylation analysis and RNA analysis, and high-quality antibodies.

We also provide Epigenomic Services to support your epigenetics related discovery, mechanism of action, transgenerational studies, epigenetic biomarker identification, including cancer biomarkers and functional epigenomics. Our goal is to make epigenetics research accessible and to ensure consistent data in every experiment.

Hologic Diagenode is looking for a highly motivated Biopharma Business Development Manager, West Coast to expand our epigenomic services business. This role will focus on promoting the services portfolio, targeting the biotech and pharmaceutical market segments. What You Can Expect:

Strategically expand and manage our existing services business through partnering and promoting the business, while also managing and enhancing ongoing business relationships in the West Coast territory.  Engage with existing and prospective clients, critical internal partners, sales teams and others who will impact business growth.  Develop high-level relationships with leaders in the basic research, biomarker, and pre-clinical drug development space to establish a footprint for Hologic Diagenode services portfolio. Develop and maintain new and existing business relationships within biopharma, incubators/accelerators, and academic hubs.  Develop new business opportunities/strategic partnerships through direct contacts, trade shows, referrals, etc. Work cross-functionally with Territory Account Managers, Marketing, and Tech Support teams. Identify and track customer needs, working collaboratively with internal resources to enhance customer satisfaction. Collect and leverage customer insights to promote further account pipeline development. Keep abreast of trends & new developments in epigenetics and genomics and building change into effective business strategies. Provide rigor around CRM updates, expense reporting, and other required business processes.         

What We Expect:

5+ years of experience in business development, selling services to biotech and pharmaceutical industry (molecular testing services). Familiarity with epigenetics preferred. Proven track record in identifying market trends and establishing action plans to increase sales, and drive business growth.  Experience in effective funnel management using SFDC. Excellent negotiation, prospecting and networking skills, with strong relationship management abilities and ability to navigate in highly complex environments. Financial, costing, and budgeting skills for measuring, monitoring and reporting business metrics. Strong planning and organizational skills; rigorous and independent with an entrepreneurial spirit, strong customer focus, and business acumen. Effective communicator, with the ability to develop, deliver and facilitate impactful presentations. Advanced degree in life sciences preferred.

Location

This role is located on the West Coast; ideally, close to scientific hubs and major airport (s).

Hologic offers a job with a lot of developmental potential in a growth-oriented environment and a unique company culture.

The total compensation range for this role is $130,000 - $200,000. This is based on a base salary and commission plan combination. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, territory/ geography, education, business needs, market demand, and performance versus quota.
