The Center works especially closely with 10 transdisciplinary Center Program Directors who hold faculty appointments in 4 U of U departments and will work closely with faculty and staff at Weber State University to contribute to the success of this prominent legislative partnership. This position provides statistical analysis and programming support for projects within the University of Utah Health Sciences Center and in collaboration with other departments and Universities. **Responsibilities** 1. Provides statistical analysis programming, including completion of basic descriptive and inferential analyses and the interpretation of results 2. Reviews data for discrepancies, interact with data managers, and create analysis datasets 3. Presents interim and final results, including tables and figures, and provide a written description of methods and statistical analyses used 4. Conforms to statistical programming and analysis standards 5. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the Biostatistician I Under the direction of a supervising or faculty statistician: 6. Assists in the preparation and submission of abstracts and manuscripts 7. Communicates with study investigators and other clinicians regarding statistical issues including analysis plans and interpretation of study data **Work Environment and Level of Frequency typically required** Nearly Continuously: Office environment. **Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required** Nearly Continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, talking. Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking. Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead. **Minimum Qualifications** This position requires a solid knowledge of standard statistical analysis procedures with a minimum of an MS degree in statistics, biostatistics, a related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), and demonstrated knowledge of at least one statistical programming language such as SAS or R. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). An ability to work on several projects simultaneously and manage deadlines, and excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain statistical techniques and present data results. **Preferences** **Type** Benefited Staff **Special Instructions Summary** **Additional Information** The University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems (“URS”).
