Seeking a Biotechnology Subject Matter Expert to advise top Pentagon leadership on biotechnology issues. Working with the Office of Under Secretary of Defense (Research & Engineering), the Biotechnology Subject Matter Expert will support the Office of Critical Technologies as it guides and supports modern research and analysis of strategic biotechnology initiatives. The SME should have demonstrated skills in biological and biotechnology experimentation; experimentation of biological effects for RF and directed energy weapons, and knowledge of RF and directed energy capabilities.

Represent USD R&E on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and participate in Government-approved conferences and forums in addition to specific USD R&E projects. Assist, prepare and conduct meetings for current Biotechnology issues. Conduct biotechnology research analysis. Develop and coordinate concepts and requirements for the application of current and emerging technologies as they apply to DoD's R&E program. Assist and prepare presentations and reports to DoD leadership and outside DoD. Track the department-wide budget for efforts aligning with Biotechnology. Maintain and update Biotechnology modernization roadmaps, coordinate roadmaps with key stakeholders. Make recommendations to the development of Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) pertinent to mission needs and technical capabilities.
