Job Title: Blackstone Multi-Asset Investing (BXMA), Total Portfolio Management, Data Associate

Job Description:        

This role will drive the management, visualization and automation of data across BXMA’s Total Portfolio Management business. The business develops and manages custom client portfolios, using an open architecture approach that combines external fund investments, private market strategies, direct investing and the Blackstone ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities will include:

Ongoing development and maintenance of the business’ internal data solutions with a focus on highly scalable and computationally efficient data and analytical infrastructure.

Gather requirements from business stakeholders to understand their processes and pain points in order to plan and deliver data-focused solutions

Identify opportunities for new data sets and visualizations, tracking process and system improvements that lead to better adoption, data quality, governance and reporting

Maintain and prioritize the backlog of tasks while coordinating with investment professionals, technology and operations teams and fund accountants

Liaise with internal teams and third party providers as required to manage accurate data flows

Generate analysis and data visualizations, and collaborate closely with technology colleagues to drive business initiatives

Data quality assurance and coordination of solutions across teams

Manage multiple projects and deadlines, identifying paths forward and solutions

Qualifications:

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. The successful candidate should have:

4+ years of relevant work experience, including sourcing, cleaning, managing and analyzing large data sets. Experience in consulting, financial services, project management and/or business analytics preferred

Possess strong knowledge of financial markets

Strong strategic thinking and ability to align technology initiatives with business goals and objectives

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills and ability to navigate through ambiguity and drive results

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence and drive consensus with both business stakeholders and technical co-workers

Experience conducting thorough research to understand user motivations and workflow and can clearly communicate them using appropriate methods

Very adaptable with ability to work in a dynamic environment requiring flex between analytical, strategic and operational aspects of the job

Have a strong SQL background in addition to an understanding of modern data warehousing techniques and best practices

Advanced Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Python skills

Addepar experience not required, but a plus

Undergraduate degree required

Expected annual base salary range:

$120,000 - $140,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
