**Job Description:**
Operate air driven, steel-shot blaster to remove rust/slag and other unwanted properties from trailers and trailer components. Prepares components/trailers for grit-blasting in pre-paint area and performs other duties as assigned by Load King Management.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Safely and efficiently use blasting and cleaning techniques in the preparation of surfaces for coating
+ Abrades surfaces of metal or hard-composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart specified finish, using abrasive-blasting equipment: Shovels or pours abrasives, such as sand, grit, or shot of specified grade into machine hopper.
+ Masks specified areas of object to protect from abrading action.
+ Loads parts on racks in enclosed rooms, into tumbling barrels, or into cabinets.
+ Turns valves on equipment to regulate pressure and composition of abrasive mixture flowing through nozzle or into tumbling barrel.
+ Starts equipment that directs blast or flow of abrasive-laden compressed air, gas, or liquid over surface of parts.
+ Manually directs nozzle over surface of large parts or inserts arms through glove-fitted cabinet openings and manipulates small parts under nozzle for specified interval.
+ Act in accordance with applicable practices, policies, and procedures, when blasting.
+ Must utilize appropriate personal protective equipment when blasting, as directed.
+ Disassembles sandblasting equipment and cleans equipment, using solvent, wire brushes, and dry cloth
+ Must maintain all equipment in good working condition.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or the equivalent.
+ 2+ years of experience
+ Proficient in modern painting techniques and equipment. Good working knowledge of industrial paints, primers and thinners and knowledge of various machines, painting practices and techniques.
+ Must be able to paint all products in a variety of sizes.

**Working Conditions:**
+ Work is conducted inside and outside during all-weather types.
+ Temperatures will be variable according to season and specific work site.
+ Tasks may involve moderate to heavy physical labor.
+ Walking, climbing, standing, sitting, and lifting are required
**Physical Requirements:**
+ Must be able to work in cold and hot weather conditions some part of the time.
+ Be able to grip, pull and push heavy objects.
+ Ability to work with hands and perform routine lifting up to 50 lbs.
+ Stand for extended periods of time.
