What You’ll Do
This is a permanent position based in Fredericton, NB. The candidate will be expected to assist with all aspects of work related to blasting operations at various construction sites located mostly within New Brunswick. This position involves but is not limited to the following tasks:
Perform all blast site duties under the supervision of a licensed blaster (Carry packaged explosives and detonators onto the blast pattern, assist loading products into boreholes, shovel and bucket work on pattern, assist with hookup and preparation of the blast)
Driving small delivery and service vehicles between job sites.
Responsible for pre-trip inspection to ensure that truck and delivery equipment is in good operating condition.
Occasional overnight stays for remote job locations.
Learn to understand and adhere to the regulations related to the field: (TDG, Explosives Act, Blasting Safety Regs, WHIMIS)
Assist in light maintenance to truck and equipment under the supervision of Mechanic or Supervisor
Ensuring that all company policies, safe work practices, hazard analysis, and standard operating procedures are followed.
What We’re Looking For:
Minimum Class 5 drivers license with good driving record.
Minimum educational requirements: Completion of high school (Grade 12) or experience in the related fields.
Basic computer skills an asset
A positive professional and courteous attitude is an asset when dealing with customers.
Must be willing to submit for pre-hire Fitness for work examination, including screening for drug and alcohol.
Fluency in spoken and written English is a requirement.
