The purpose of the position of US Lead Blend Technician I is to blend quality products in compliance with the RCMS, ISO 9001 and all standard operating procedures. Responsibilities also include shipping, labeling, and packaging in order to meet customer demand on a daily basis. The US Lead Blend Technician I is responsible for receiving in raw materials and for unloading bulk raw materials into the proper storage tank. The US Lead Blend Technician will be involved in obtaining bids for projects and will deal with the service contractors.
Responsibilities
Understand and comply with all applicable internal CPI /Lubrizol and external health, safety, security, and environmental policies. Follow established procedures as described in ISO-9001 and RC-14001. Blend, package, and ship quality products in compliance with Quality and EHS&S Standards set in place by CPI and Lubrizol. Ability to perform physical labor (drum and pail material handling as well as lift chemical hoses). Safely perform operating tasks using a variety of chemical processing equipment. Organize work to meet multiple tasks. Print and complete PI Sheets in SAP. Package material into containers (pails, drums, totes, etc.) Prepare and ship samples to Midland QC lab for analysis. Clean equipment as required for maintenance or for next batch. Assist in keeping warehouse clean and organized. Assist with maintenance on pumps, hard lines, meters, mixers, air compressors, forklifts and other equipment. Assist in calibrating meters and adjust calibration if necessary. Operate forklift in a safe manner. Assist in cycle counts and physical inventory. Unload raw materials from trucks and unload bulk raw materials into the storage tanks. Receive in raw materials in SAP. Pull orders and label appropriately. Load trucks. Ensure truckload/container shipments are properly secured. Ensure appearance of products being shipped meet CPI’s as well as our customers’ expectations. Maintain clean appearance of tanks, scales and pipes. Member of the Emergency Response Team. Certified hazardous material technician who will manage and control the release of hazardous material. Meet and escort the local enforcement when alarm is tripped during non-business hours. Responsible for obtaining contractors for maintenance of equipment and other outside services. Oversee contractors’ progress and responsible for contactors following CPI’s EHS&S requirements. Purchase maintenance supplies with P-card. Member of the Storm Water Team. Responsible for following rules when releasing water. Scrap old, obsolete or non-working supplies/equipment with minimal cost to the company while adhering to CPI EHS&S policies.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent Five plus years’ experience as a blend technician Basic math and reading skill Good computer skills Ability to read and interpret work instructions

Previous forklift Knowledge of chemistry and chemical hazards Knowledge of pumping operations, tank operations, and filtration equipment Previous experience in a team-based work environment Mechanical aptitude Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office
