Blending Operator I

Job Summary

Perform machine operation functions in multiple work locations in support of HWP production goals. This is a non-exempt job that reports to the Shift Supervisor. Specific tasks are clearly defined by work instructions for each operation in the job rotation. Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.

SHIFT
+$1 per hour SWING Monday - Friday, 2pm - 10:30pm

Please note that this position may exceed 40 hours per week per business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED preferred1 to 3 years of current warehouse material handling experience in a manufacturing environment desirable3 to 6 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.Target industries include pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, electronic, chemical, cosmetics and/ or food.Ability to read and write in English, use basic shop math skills, algebra, and basic computer skills.1 year experience with ERP systems in some capacity preferredHand truck, forklift, other PIT equipment experience preferred.Ability to read and write & communicate in English, use basic shop math skills, algebra, and basic computer skills.Experience with FDA/cGMP compliance is preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

               It is essential for all employees to adhere to Company policies.

Involves the process of accurately selecting materials off a batch record to be blended to make up a finished good. Follow Standard Operating Procedure for blending & weighing up each raw material Operator must have the ability to calculate the number of capsules that are to be produced to confirm the blend is accurate. Cleaning and set-up of machine.  Work is based on specific guidelines for each machine and part. Moves and/or stacks bins/bucket of materials, and may load tubs of materials to work centers as applicable. Visually and manually inspect material to inspection guidelines to ensure quality standards. Checks and corrects any conditions which are not conducive to a safe, clean work place.  Report any safety problems immediately.  Complete documentation accurately and legibly per established procedures Effectively problem solve Maintains clean and orderly work area including: cleaning machines, breakdown of machine, tools and area around work station.   Ability to be at the physical location of the job at the designated shift assigned.   Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers. Must be able to successfully pass all job-related tests and certifications required for working in a cGMP, quality environment including but not limited to: inspections and GMP requirements to perform essential functions of the job.  Must re-qualify every year on all job-related tests and certifications as job or qualifications require

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Standing/Walking: Continually – Most assignments and work functions are performed while standing. Sitting:  Occasionally – Few assignments can be completed while either sitting or standing and only applies to certain work areas and/or work functions. Crouching (bending at knees): Occasionally – Crouching is necessary when lifting parts and materials. Reaching: Continually – All positions require continual handling of small parts and various materials. Reaching is primarily performed between waist and shoulder level.  Some overhead reaching is required. Stooping (bend at waist): Continually – Bend at waist while setting up work activities. Kneeling:  Rarely – Kneels to retrieve materials from the floor. Handling: Continually – Handles products that come in various forms: buckets, boxes, bins. Feeling/Grasping: Continually – Required for all tasks. Lifting/Carrying: Frequently lifts up to 50lbs -120lbs.  Will be lifting and pouring blended product up to 80-120+lbs to shoulder height. Pushing/Pulling – Frequently – pushing/pulling loads up to 1500lbs of a pallet jack Seeing:  have 20/20 vision or 20/30 corrected vision.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL HAZARDS

Works in production environment with regular exposure to noise, Cleaning agents including bleach, enzymes, mineral dust/powder, and vitamin dust/powder Works in a production environment with a controlled temperature of 67 degrees and 30% humidity Must adhere to Company safety policies and wear the required personal protective equipment. Must be able to work while wearing a self contained breathing apparatus.
