With close to 50 economists and 200 economics and government reporters worldwide, Bloomberg has an outstanding capacity to explain where the world is economically and politically, where it might be heading, and the ways in which geopolitical and economic forces interact. Bloomberg Economics already offers a comprehensive macroeconomic research service for Terminal subscribers. That includes detailed forecasts, supported by thorough and original thematic research. We are seeking a data analyst to join our team to help build country-risk indicators for a period of 12 months. **The role:** The successful candidate will contribute to the development of country risk indices. **We’ll trust you to:** + Builda range of country-level risk indices using large datasets, incollaboration with other colleagues in Bloomberg Economics. + Buildsolutions to keep those indices up to date using APIs and automatedscripts + Contributeto the development of visualization tools to display those indices + Fromtime to time, collaborate with our Geoeconomics team to publish analysisfeaturing the country risk indices on the Bloomberg Terminal **You’ll need to have:** + Experienceworking with Python to analyze large datasets, call APIs and visualizedata in charts and dashboards + Experiencecollaborating on data projects as part of a team using Git + Basicknowledge of software engineering best practices (e.g., writingmaintainable and scalable code, testing, code review…) + Englishproficiency + Academicor professional experience of applying statistical and econometric methodsto analyzing data + Experienceapplying quantitative methods to topics related to political science,environmental science or economics **We’d love to see:** + Degreein political science or economics + Experienceautomating scripts using Apache Airflow + Experiencewith other programming languages, especially R + Someprofessional experience is a plus, but recent graduates with a proventrack record of collaborating on data analysis projects (as a researchassistant for example) are also welcome to apply **If this sounds like you:** Please apply and you'll be notified on the next steps.
