Major Responsibilities:
The Clinical Specialist, Pharmacist meets all the major responsibilities job requirements of the Clinical Pharmacist plus the following major responsibilities:
Maintains an active practice in a specialized or focused area.Continuous contribution to new clinical service or project that directly impacts patient outcomes/safety, cost containment or process improvement.Actively participates and/or leads hospital based interdisciplinary committee(s) and/or taskforces in a specialized or focused practice area.Develops and maintains clinical practice guidelines, interdisciplinary policies and standard operating procedures.Supports resident or other research projects and/or quality improvement initiatives and engages in opportunities for publication.Involved in presentations at a local or national level.Serves as primary preceptor for pharmacy students and residents.
