Position Purpose:
In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors; the Boiler Operator operates boiler, steam plant, associated systems and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Performs repairs and preventative maintenance as assigned or required.What You Will Do:
Performs basic preventive maintenance on heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.Operates and adjusts HVAC systems to heat and cool air to specified temperatures and humidifies.Maintains air filters and drive belts on HVAC air handling units. • Must have the working knowledge of electro-mechanical equipment, testing equipment and use of protective coatings.Performs any manual tasks required in the performance of the job assignmentInstalls, maintains, repairs and troubleshoots heating/ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. Replaces parts as necessary, checks and tests for proper operation, sets and adjusts the equipment and returns the system to operation after repair at on and off-site locations.Assist in monthly generator tests by resetting and restarting any/all HVAC equipment and boilers.Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school graduate or equivalency. Technical training and mechanical and electrical systems.Licensure / Certification: State of Ohio high pressure boiler license required.Experience: Experienced in blueprint reading and knowledge of commercial plumbing codes.Minimum five years experience operating high pressure boilers.Effective Communication Skills, Ability to function with minimum supervision, and knowledge of basic computer applications.Physical demands including working in 100+ degree environments, lifting objects up to 100 pounds, and work at heights of 20 feet or more from ladders, experienced in the use of electrical test equipment and the ability to use the equipment while effectively trouble shooting malfunctions, experienced in the installation and repair of the medical gas systems.Position Highlights and Benefits:
