The primary focus of the BOM Engineer is to develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for residential manufactured and modular homes across various models and series levels. The BOM engineer ensures consistency between CAD designs and purchased parts, drives effective change and cost management on purchased items and ensures BOM synchronization with multiple manufacturing plants. This role involves collaborating with CAD developers, managing BOM changes, and supporting product management, procurement and production teams. The BOM Engineer ensures compliance with standards and specifications while identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. \n

Essential Duties and Responsibilities\n
\n
BOM Creation and Management:\n\nDevelop and manage BOMs for standardized product series, customized projects, along with underlying assemblies, options, and platforms across one or more plants\nWork closely with design and engineering teams to gather necessary information for BOM creation\nSupport part and assembly reusability by assisting with Product Family Architecture framework regarding parts, features, packs, options and platforms. \nEnsure BOM accuracy and integrity in PLM and ERP systems, including accurate mapping of components between CAD, generic Part, and purchased items.\nDevelop rules and configurations within PLM for accurate enrichment of BOM data according to engineering and architectural specifications. \nCoordinate with manufacturing, supply chain, and plant leadership to ensure BOMs align with production requirements\nConduct regular audits and reviews of BOMs to identify and correct discrepancies.\n\n

Change Management:\n\nManage and document BOM changes through Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and ensure timely implementation.\nCommunicate BOM changes to relevant stakeholders and update systems accordingly.\nSupport efficient data management through perpetual obsolescence and specification evaluations. \nDrive for change management success by being the voice for workflow processes in these areas.\n\n

Process Improvement:\n\nIdentify opportunities for improving BOM management processes \nConduct regular audits and reviews of BOMs to identify and correct discrepancies\nParticipate with cross-functional teams as a subject matter expert\n\n

General:\n\nOccasional to regular travel may be required to various CHB manufacturing facilities in pursuit of objectives.\nUnderstand, appreciate, and enjoy manufactured housing and residential construction along with the significance our products bring to the customer. \n\n

Supervisory Responsibilities\n
\n\nMay lead various support personnel in a variety of activities but will not have direct supervisory authority.\n\n

Education and\/or Experience \n
\n\n3 years' experience in BOM management or related fields \nExpertise in PLM modules: Part and BOM, Change Management, Variant Configuration, CAD integration\nBachelors or four-year degree required.\nAbility to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals.\nAbility to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance.\nPossess the ability to work well as part of a team and independently.\n\n
