Responsibilities Demonstrates a complete working knowledge of the bone density equipment within the department. Performs all bone density examinations as assigned. Provides radiation protection to patient, staff and self according to prescribed safety standards. Maintains exposure reading within the As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) limits, as evidenced by monthly radiation exposure reports. Correctly identifies patient, compares provider script to order requisition, and ensures the exam and ordering provider are accurate. Consults with the radiologist as necessary. Explains procedures to patients/families and answers any questions to ease anxiety and assure patient cooperation. Obtains an adequate clinical history. Assists in the movement of patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers and radiographic tables. Verifies images in PACS and tracks patients according to department procedure. Acts as a resource to radiography students and other technologists as required by the organization. Ensures rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies and has the required supplies readily available for procedures. Rotates stock in an orderly fashion and discards expired items. Performs visual preventive safety inspections, identifies problems and communicates to immediate supervisor. Completes routine QC. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications 2 years as a Registered Radiologic Technologist Graduate of accredited School of Radiography Credentials * DE RADIATION - Delaware State Radiation license * DE LICENSED - Licensed in state of DE * BLS - Basic Life Saving certification Education * Associates Degree in related field Other Information ARRT - RT - BD Salaries starting at USD $29.41/Hr.
