TCG, a HUB International Company, manages retirement accounts, chiefly for the public sector. Our clients are mostly school districts who use us to manage the retirement accounts for their employees. TCG is responsible for ensuring that plans comply with federal laws and regulations, and our clients hire us to make sure that all of the money moving into and out of these accounts does so in accordance with those federal regulations.

Job purpose:

The purpose of the Bookeeper is to manage day-to-day accounting tasks and ensure accurate financial recordkeeping. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of QuickBooks online, bookkeeping principles, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
 

Duties and responsibilities:

Maintain and update financial records using QuickBooks OnlineManage accounts payable and accounts receivableReconcile bank, credit card, and other financial statementsProcess payroll and ensure proper tax filings (if applicable)Generate financial reports for internal and external useAssist with budgeting and forecastingWork closely with CPAs and other finance team membersEnsure compliance with financial policies and regulationsMaintain digital and physical filing systems for financial documentation


 

Work experience:

2+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a small to mid-sized business


 

Education/Licensing:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (certification a plus)


 

Knowledge and Skills:

Strong understanding of accounting principles and best practicesExperience with payroll systems and sales tax filings is a plusStrong verbal and written communication skillsAnalytical and problem-solving abilitiesProficient in Microsoft Office – intermediate to expert user level preferred.Excellent organizational skillsAbility to work well under pressure with attention to detailTeam oriented self-starter with ability to prioritize, monitor and control workflowDetail orientedSense of urgencyHigh degree of independence and problem-solving skill

Working Conditions

Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.

$55,000-$75,000
