Join the BOOtanical Event Staff today for one unforgettable job! **Responsibilities** Perform assigned elements of setup and breakdown of BOOtanical. o Design and fabricate displays and decorations o Install signage, lights, displays, and decorations o Review event and provide constructive feedback o Cleanup, store, and remove event displays, decorations, lighting, and signage o Actively participate in all event duties as assigned Serve as the on-site event staff during BOOtanical. o Be present for the entirety of all assigned event shifts o Maintain a positive, proactive, solution-oriented demeanor when responding to guests, volunteers, coworkers, performers, and vendors o Check functionality of displays and decorations o Troubleshoot any lighting issues, signage placement, and pathway closures Maintain high standards of health and safety. o Follow all event safety and security rules, procedures, and guidelines o Help monitor supplies, equipment, and facilities to ensure proper utilization, care, and maintenance. o Notify management of any unusual circumstances, safety issues, or damages to property Represent Red Butte Garden when interacting with BOOtanical guests, volunteers, performers, and vendors. o Provide excellent customer service to guests o Ensure guest satisfaction before, after, and during the event as much as possible o Engage with large crowds of guests and assist with crowd management o Help relay pertinent information to performers and vendors o Provide direction, leadership, and feedback to event volunteers o Calmly attend to unexpected incidents related to the event Assist with other activities and programs as needed by performing other relevant duties as assigned. **Minimum Qualifications** + Proven written and verbal communication skills + Must be proactive, flexible and able to work both independently and as part of a team + Excellent customer service skills + Self-directed, punctual, enthusiastic, and highly organized + Experience crafting or creating backgrounds, sets, props, or other decorative elements + Previous experience working festivals or special events + Ability to think creatively and respond calmly and quickly in stressful situations + Enthusiasm, sense of humor, and patience + Dependable and punctual + Ability to accept supervision and guidance **Preferences** **Special Instructions Summary** **Additional Information** The University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems (“URS”).
