**Job Title: Boring Mill Operator** **Job Description** We are looking to add a manual boring mill operator to our team. The main job duties include setting up and operating boring machines to bore, drill, tap, spot face, groove, mill, or ream metal workpieces. **Responsibilities** + Interpret blueprints and job orders for production specifications and tooling instructions. + Work with designers, management, and toolmakers to troubleshoot design and blueprint discrepancies. + Compute cutting speeds, feed rates, and dimensions. + Set up and operate boring mill machines including drills, taps, end mills, reamers. + Operate manual inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and thread gauges. + Observe machine operation and remove and inspect machined workpieces to verify conformance to specifications. + Monitor machines and make recommendations to management regarding any maintenance, safety, and inadequate machine functions. **Essential Skills** + Experience with boring mill, milling, machining, and tooling. + Proficiency in interpreting blueprints. + Ability to compute cutting speeds, feed rates, and dimensions. + Experience in manual quality inspection. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Associate's degree plus at least 2 years of experience and/or training in boring mill operation or general machining OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. + Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume. + Knowledge of basic math, algebra, and geometry concepts. + General machining development and knowledge of structures, castings, and tooling. + CNC programming knowledge is preferred. **Work Environment** The work environment is extremely clean and climate-controlled. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
