Job Description

Working within the Batch & Furnace team, your responsibilities will include:

Receiving, monitoring, and signing off on lorry loads of raw materials, ensuring accurate documentation and timely processing.Conducting thorough quality checks on raw materials, adhering to strict quality control standards and reporting any discrepancies.Utilising Plant vehicles to maintain optimal silo levels, ensuring a consistent supply for furnace operations.Supporting the manufacturing process by clearing the "basement" area of molten glass using appropriate Plant vehicles, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.Operating a variety of Plant vehicles, including Forklift Trucks (FLT), Bobcats, and Loading Shovels, with a focus on safety and efficiency.Adhering to and promoting health and safety regulations at all times, particularly when working outdoors and operating heavy machinery.Working a 4 on 4 off 12-hour rotating shift pattern, demonstrating flexibility and reliability in attendance.Monitoring and reporting on equipment condition, flagging any maintenance issues to the appropriate team.Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth operations and seamless shift handovers.Maintaining accurate records of material movements, quality checks, and any incidents or near-misses.Participating in regular safety briefings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and procedures.Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements and efficiency measures.Assisting in inventory management and stock rotation of raw materials as required.Responding promptly to any emergency situations or production issues, following established protocols.

QualificationsFLT, Bobcat, Loading Shovel licences an advantage
