Welder
POSITION SUMMARY:
Welder is responsible for welding of new dollies, and support of new product integration at Boston Whaler.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
Requires extensive knowledge in all aspects of fabrication and weldingCandidate must either be certified or willing to get certified after 90-day probationary periodCandidate must be able to pass the Boston Whaler weld testRequires extensive knowledge in dolly styles and identificationCandidate must be fork lift certified and capable of operating large equipment throughout the campus. Requires initiative and the ability to work under minimal supervisionCandidate must be able to have a flexible schedule and be willing to work overtime, including weekends if needed to support production needsSKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or equivalentWelding Certification from accredited collegeMig and Tig experienceUse all fabrication and welding tools, power and hand toolsBasic communication skillsBasic computer, math, reading and measurement proficiencyMust be able to read drawings and specificationsKnowledge of 5S, Kaizen and LSS preferredAbility to follow established safety guidelinesDetailed and organizedSelf-starter, team player with a good safety awarenessAbility to perform other duties as requiredLift more than 50lbsFork lift certified and capable of operating other heavy equipmentPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Lift up to 30 lbs up to 60% of shift and 50 lbs up to 30% of shift; push/pull up to 30 lbsWalk, stand, bend, twist/turn, reach overhead and grasp tools as necessaryWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
