Farwest Steel Corporation is seeking applicants for the position of Branch Operations Manager for the Vancouver Reinforcing Branch.
The primary purpose of the position is to apply corporate directives and provide production leadership to the operational workforce and production warehouse. This includes employee development, applying Lean principles through continuous improvement, facilitating communication between appropriate departments and affected personnel and providing managerial oversight of branch safety program to ensure safe work practices. The Operations Manager is responsible for defining and implementing work strategies as it relates to manpower, equipment, inventory, and black bar fabrication to ensure safety, profitability, and market growth.
Candidates must have prior supervisory experience managing a diverse production workforce, a proven ability to succeed in a dynamic work environment managing multiple tasks at once, capable of developing business and strategic operational plans utilizing solid computer skills using a variety of software tools. Must be knowledgeable and have experience with crane operation, rebar fabrication, and material handling equipment. Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to effectively schedule workflow and have knowledge of safety and OSHA regulations. Candidate must have proven ability to work independently with minimal day to day work direction.
Additionally, candidates must have high school diploma or GED. Preference given to candidates with a college degree or advanced courses in manufacturing or engineering.

+ Up to a 20% annual bonus based on Reinforcing Steel Division net sales revenue
