The Brand Director, Buick GMC will be accountable for the success of the Buick and GMC brands in Canada, and to advocate for the brand internally to all functional counterparts, and externally to our dealer Network and customers. This person will report to the Vice President, Sales, Service and Marketing. The successful candidate will be responsible for profitable sales, market share, brand health, and performance marketing targets for the Buick and GMC brands. This role will lead initiatives that include product management, EV readiness, agency relationship management, advertising, brand and retail marketing and strategic planning and partnerships. The role will also work closely with the Global Buick GMC team, having regular contact and reporting relationships to the Global Vice President, Buick GMC, and CMO of Buick and GMC.
Canadian Product Planning (CPP), Pricing and Packaging:
Lead development of Canadian product and pricing strategies for Buick and GMC producing high residual values, and vehicle line profit
Maintain understanding of key brand drivers (sales, share, profit, brand health, inventory) and make recommendations to keep brands on track to growth objectives
Retail Planning & Merchandising:
Develop retail strategies that lead to profitable market share attainment, through a combination of effective go-to-market specs, pricing, incentive deployment, and attractive consumer value propositions
Manage brand toward achievement of higher market share, profit, and residual values
Advertising and Marketing Planning:
Leverage fact-based data driven insights to shape brand’s 5-year strategy, and champion that vision to senior leadership and the broader organization such that Buick GMC contributes positively to the overall company vision
Lead annual brand planning and establishing the brand’s business objectives
Develop and execute brand strategies and initiatives, responding to market challenges and opportunities
Demonstrate visible leadership as brand champion among all key stakeholders – GMCC functional counterparts, management, dealer network
Build and maintain strong relationships with global counter parts to drive efficiencies and aligned brand deliverables
Ensure media and marketing budgets are optimized and that our brands employ the latest and best media principles with a focus on performance marketing, return on ad-spend, and efficient use of all marketing funds to maximize return on investments for brand health and sales targets.
Organizational Capacity
Manage, develop, and coach National Brand, Product and Marketing Communications Managers
Promote and support a healthy organizational culture, with the brand team seen as positive collaborators and contributors, as business partners, peers, and GMCC employees
Develop strong cross collaboration within GM Canada, including Digital, Sales, Finance, PR, Legal, OnStar, Chevrolet and Cadillac teams
Represent Buick GMC Canada in all dealer and global forums
Develop a culture of inclusion, safety and performance aligned to GM’s corporate values and behaviours
