  Job Responsibilities:
  Conduct audits in accordance with BRCGS Food Safety standards to ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Review and evaluate food safety management systems in manufacturing, retailing, inspection, or enforcement sectors. Identify and document non-conformances, and ensure corrective actions are implemented. Prepare and submit detailed audit reports, outlining findings, observations, and recommendations. Work closely with clients to ensure they understand the requirements of BRCGS standards and guide them through corrective actions.   Job Qualifications:


Work Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience related to the food industry, including roles in quality assurance or food safety within manufacturing, retailing, inspection, or enforcement. For BRC START! program, a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience is required.


Education:

A degree or diploma in a food-related or bioscience discipline. In cases where no degree or diploma is present, extensive relevant work experience (a minimum of 10 years) may be accepted with written approval from BRCGS.


Training Requirements:

Completion of a Registered Management System Lead Assessor Course (e.g., IRCA) or BRC Third Party Auditor course delivered by a BRC-approved trainer. For BRC Food Audits, completion of the BRC Food Third Party Auditor course or BRC Food Understanding Requirements Course and Report Writing course is required (delivered by a BRC-approved trainer). For BRC START! auditors, completion of the Auditors Guide to the START! Programme is also required. Successful completion of an industry-recognized HACCP training course (minimum 2 days) based on Codex Alimentarius principles, evidenced by passing an exam.
