The Breast Health Nurse Navigator acts as a resource for patients and their families confronting a potential cancer diagnosis and to the community in providing breast health awareness, proper screening and risk behavior modification guidance. Through the use of education and assessment tools, the Breast Health Navigator serves as a central point of contact for identified patients confronted with BiRad 4 and BiRad 5 diagnostic Mammograms. Coordinates their care to biopsy and surgical follow up. Arranges services within the Breast center and resources available through the community or service agencies, providing education regarding follow up needed. Educates patient about biopsy, surgical visit and if needed follow up with Medical or radiation Oncology. Symptom management and long-term survival issues. The Breast Center navigator will work collaboratively to coordinate patient care needs and communicates with the Oncology Nurse Navigator the need for consult services of the Cancer Center. There is an ongoing responsibility for ensuing that the values of Respect, Compassion, Justice, Hospitality, Holistic Approach, Stewardship and Collaboration are present in our interactions with one another in the service we provide RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred Minimum of 3 years of experience in Surgical or Oncology services or related cancer field Previous experience as a Patient Coordinator or Nurse Navigator preferred Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills, Effective Public speaking and presentation skills required Proficient in use of personal computer programs including word, power point, excel and data management programs preferred LICENSE AND REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS: Specialty certification Preferred BLS certification required EQUAL OPPORTUNITY Redeemer Health is an equal opportunity employer.
