BYX Flight OperationsPOSITION PURPOSE
Maintains command of assigned aircraft at all times while exercising operational control. Manages the safety of the passengers, crewmembers, cargo and aircraft.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED.
Must possess a Multi-Engine Commercial certificate, and a 2nd class medical.
Must have minimum of 500 hours total time, 100 hours cross country, 10 hours of multi-engine, and 25 hours at night.
PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Prior customer service experience, preferably in an aviation environment.
500 hrs. total time or more.
Instructor experience
REGULATORY
Able to pass an FAA required 10-year work history review and criminal background and fingerprint checks. Possess and maintain a valid US passport or foreign passport. Authorized by law to work in the United States and able to travel in and out of the United States. Eligible for CANPASS entry to CanadaMust submit to and able to pass FAA and Company mandated drug and alcohol tests.LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations. Able to effectively present information to and respond to questions from management, crew, passengers and the general public. Able to speak and be understood in English, including shouted verbal commands during emergency situations.
REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Capable of interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form. Must be able to remain calm, think and react quickly in all types of emergency situations including but not limited to: medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, turbulence, etc.
DECISION MAKING
Makes day to day decisions used to support strategic direction. Decisions often require some thought and are somewhat structured. Decisions could require additional expenditure of resources if not sound decisions. Able to process information quickly and react in a positive manner during unexpected and/or serious situations. Capable of controlling personal and emotional responses and acting appropriately under high levels of stress.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
This position requires the ability to work near moving mechanical parts.
Withstand outdoor weather conditions within an open air hangar and on the flight line.
The noise level may be loud and use of headset is needed as required by policies and procedures. Willing and able to work a rotating schedule, on sequential days, as well as a varied schedule, including early morning, nights, overnights and weekends.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Travel up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays and overnight travel. Home basing with a Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, (rotating Wednesday), or Thursday, Friday, Saturday schedule.
