Bridge/Structures Highway Maintenance Technician

Versar Global Services seeks a Full-Time Bridge Maintenance Technician for our Miami Lakes, FL project. This position will be able to perform general maintenance of the Bridge structures on the project as assigned. Your Impact

Performs landscape maintenance duties such as mowing, herbicide and fertilizer application, weed control, spring clean-up, fall clean-up, tree trimming, and pruningCleans bridge stormwater drainage structures and on bridge slopesPerforms general maintenance duties such as litter and debris removalPerforms concrete structural repair to sidewalks and bridges or overpassesClimbs, moves and works at heights on and under bridges using proper safety equipment.Fills and patches asphalt pavement potholes and distressesPerforms Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) / temporary traffic controlProvides after-hours emergency incident response during scheduled on-call rotationConducts pre-trip and post-trip inspectionsPerforms preventative maintenance on company vehicles or equipmentOperates a variety of mechanical equipment such as edgers, gators, blowers, dump trailers, chain saws, line trimmers, forklifts, and moreDrives company trucks, towing trailers, and rolling arrow boards if necessaryLogs maintenance work-order information and checklists manually and electronicallyLoads and unloads equipment, supplies, tools, and materialUses all equipment, tools, materials, and supplies safelyPerforms other duties as assigned

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalentPossess and maintain a valid Driver’s LicenseAbility to lift to 50 lbs. and carry up to 25 lbs. regularlyAbility to walk, stand, or sit for extended periodsPossess good oral and written communication skillsWillingness to work multiple shifts and varying hours, including nights, weekends, and overtimeAbility to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditionsAbility to work along local roadways, interstates, and or/highways with commuter traffic passing by at varying rates of speed2+ years of experience working in roadway operations, construction, utilities, or landscapingObtain MOT certificate (coursework and certification paid for by Versar)Successful results of pre-employment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screenComply with Company Drug and Alcohol policyRequired to Work Night Shift
