Job Description:

Disney Inc is looking for a highly motivated and qualified professional for a full-time broadcast maintenance position at their ABC News Bureau in Washington, DC. This Disney owned and operated facility is one of the largest television production operations in Washington DC and produces multiple shows daily for ABC and ESPN. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to be an important part of a cutting-edge network level broadcast operation. The position will be covered by the NABET-CWA Master Agreement.

Responsibilities:

As a broadcast maintenance technician, the candidate will work as part of a team to provide ongoing support for a 24/7 television broadcast facility including the installations of new systems. The ABC Washington Bureau has many control rooms, master control, editing systems with multiple server systems and other broadcast resources that the candidate will assist in building and maintaining.

Required Qualifications:

Five or more years of full-time broadcast maintenance experiencePossess a wide range of knowledge and skills in television technology and engineeringHave a strong working knowledge of studio, transmission and editing systems.Have a strong background in broadcast television maintenance with expertise in digital video, audio and control systemsBe able to install, configure and maintain television broadcast systems including:Sony MVS SwitchersNVision routers with NV9000 control systemsGrass Valley Miranda iControlAVID NEXIS editing server with Avid FastServe and associated editing clientsGrass Valley K2 editing servers with associated editing clientsGrass Valley Kaleido-X virtual monitor wallsSSL Audio ConsolesStudio and field RoboticsIntegrated Receivers Decoders and other Satellite and ASI gearFiber Optic gear including setting up CWDMCertifications in any of the above systems is a helpful, and ABC will provide additional training.Be able to understand technical drawings and other documentation for all broadcast devices, services, and processes.Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex system problems quickly with little external technical guidance and develop corrective measures for problemsBe able to quickly identify and replace failed hardware and work with vendors to isolate and resolve technical problems quicklyAbility handle basic hardware installation, including being able to lift up to 20lbs to heights of up to 6ftAbility to balance and prioritize work and to multitaskThe candidate should enjoy working in a team environment that promotes collaboration and creativity in the workplace.

The pay rate for this role in Washington DC is $2,401.00 per week.
