The Broadcast Technician is a member of the Engineering and IT team and responsible for providing engineering and general maintenance support for the station under the direction of Chief Engineer.

Job Description

Assist in maintaining all station broadcast equipment within the facilityInstall, support and maintain IT equipment and infrastructureReview and maintain system design documents and drawingsPerform routine maintenance on all broadcast equipmentProblem solving/troubleshooting to reduce equipment downtime and maximize system efficiencyDevelop audio/video and IT solutions that meet end users’ requirementsResponsible for maintaining multiple servers/routers/hubs/switches/PC’sGenerates analysis from concept to completion on projects assignedInterface with various users, technical services, technicians and other Engineers to implement, install and debug these systemsResponsible for successful completion of new initiatives and operational projectsPerform other job-related duties as requested by management

 Requirements & Skills:

BS degree in Electrical Engineering, IT, and/or other advanced technical/science degree or related work experience preferred Ideal candidate will bring experience with broadcast audio, video and control systems, video servers, graphics & IT systemsKnowledge of master control and operations preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient with Windows and Mac operating systemsDetail oriented with ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environmentAbility to communicate with non-technical staff to resolve technical mattersKnowledge of IT networking, firewalls, RF, fiber optics and encoding/decodingFlexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.Physical capability to lift equipment up to 50 pounds, work in varied weather conditions, and climb ladders as required.
