THE OPPORTUNITY:
HUB International and Western Growers Assurance Trust (WGAT) seeks an experienced and dynamic Broker Channel Sales Leader to drive the growth of its employee benefits programs through strategic broker partnerships. This individual will be responsible for overseeing broker distribution channels, driving the sales of a book of broker partners, developing sales strategies, hiring sales team as needed, and driving overall revenue growth. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on player/coach with proven experience in the employee benefits industry, a solid understanding of the agricultural and AG-adjacent sectors, and a commitment to broker success.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Broker Channel Strategy:
Develop and implement a comprehensive broker engagement and sales strategy to achieve WGAT’s revenue growth targets.Establish strong relationships with brokers, particularly those with a focus on the agricultural and Ag-adjacent sectors. Increase market share with current broker relationships and identify new brokerage opportunities.Reinforce the Trust’s broker-centric distribution model by communicating HUB’s role in supporting broker partnerships.Work with internal WGAT and HUB resources to create marketing strategies.Sales Leadership:
Drive sales process to meet revenue goals and leading the overall growth of the Trust through broker relationships. Increase WGAT contribution and HUB revenue above current growth rates.
Identify high-value brokers and clients, aligning them with WGAT’s offerings to maximize market penetration and profitability.
Manage sales success of regional sales directors by supporting their broker partnerships and acting as an advocate for them with WGAT’s internal staff.
Team Development:
Provide training and support to brokers, ensuring they understand WGAT’s competitive advantages and product offerings.
Establish a Broker Advisory Board working with WGAT to foster collaboration and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
Market Insights and Product Development:
Gather market intelligence and broker feedback to help refine WGAT’s product offerings and ensure they meet evolving client needs.
Partner with the product innovation team to develop new health plans tailored to the agricultural workforce
Performance Tracking and Reporting:
Track broker sales performance and market trends, providing regular reports to leadership on progress toward goals.
Monitor the success of broker incentives and adjust strategies to maintain engagement and drive results.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in employee benefits sales, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing broker relationships.
Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding revenue targets through broker partnerships.
Solid knowledge of and/or interest in the agricultural and Ag-adjacent sectors and their unique employee benefits needs.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term broker relationships.
Proven ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies and incentive programs.
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field (preferred); advanced degree or industry certifications (e.g., CEBS, RHU) a plus.

The expected salary range for this position is $75,000 - $100,000/yr + Commissions and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, FSA, HSA and 401(k) accounts, paid-time-off benefits, and eligible bonuses, equity and commissions for some positions.

The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
