Brownfield Project Engineering Lead

About the position:

The Brownfield Project Engineering Lead is a working supervisor role within the Chevron ENGINE Facilities Designs Engineering team and supports Chevrons Refineries and Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) assets. Oversees team responsible for maturing Brownfield projects from Opportunity Shaping / Initial Concept Development through Detailed design. This role is responsible for a team that oversees several projects, and executes activities such as Decision Support Packages and reviews, Decision Quality Guidance, Health and Safety Screening, Technical Safety / Risk Studies, Functional Safety Reviews, Project Operations Plan, Risk and Interface Management, and Project Engineering Plans.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop Brownfield Project Engineers providing leadership and guidance on standard tools

Set and monitor benchmarking targets that improve Project Delivery and Competitive Performance

Sets clear expectations and support creation and management of individuals� performance and development plans

Partner with customers and stakeholders to prioritize the team�s workload. Ensure the team is appropriately resourced to meet the customer's needs and business plan commitments

Collaborate with other Designs Engineering Team Leads to manage Designs Engineering department organizational capabilities and competencies

Promote a continual improvement mindset while removing barriers and seeking simple, fit-for-purpose solutions

Provide leadership in sharing information and resources across the business units

Utilize Facilities Engineering Chevron Engineering Standards and Safety in Designs

Support department recruiting and hiring efforts

Leads a portfolio of small projects through concept development and selection, FEED, and detailed design. This role will lead larger projects by forming multi-discipline and cross-functional project teams and driving delivery through all phases of project delivery. Ensures Management of Change processes is followed

Experience in managing work across different geographical locations (i.e. experience in multi locations management and interfaces)

Experience in Human & Organization Performance and experience in leading a learning culture is desirable

Required Qualifications:

10+ years� experience in project management in the Brownfield environment with, must have a growth mindset with the ability to implement innovative solutions to challenging situations across the business unit

Project Management Institute qualifications are highly desirable

Project execution knowledge and experience: good understanding of Project Management fundamentals and budgeting processes to facilitate team activities

Must have a degree from a deemed/recognized (AICTE) university in relevant Engineering discipline - Mechanical, Instrumentations, Electrical, Process, or Civil/Structural

Experience executing brownfield projects of variable scale in complex facilities is preferred. Preference for experience in LNG and Refining facilities
