Scope
The ideal candidate for this position would possess knowledge and experience in the construction process of new product tooling. This knowledge and experience would cover all aspects of tooling construction including pattern construction, mold lamination, steel bracing and final finishing.

Required Experience:
Pattern shop: ability to sand and buff patterns to required finish
Lamination shop: ability to laminate molds following documented lamination specification with focus on rolling out air to ensure mold quality
Class A shop: ability to sand and buff production and tooling gel surfaces to required finish
Must have the ability to be trained in each Department as required
Must be dynamic and have the willingness to move around between each department on a daily or weekly basis to meet the demands of a flexible schedule
Ensure that work area is clean, orderly and safe at all times
Ability to perform other duties as required; production support, cut up and disposal of patterns, etc.
Preferred Experience Above Required:
Ability to spray tooling and production gelcoats
Detailed wood working experience; ability to fabricate patterns and mockups from engineering prints
All aspects of metal working and welding (Welding certification, torch and plasma cutting, Mig and Tig welding, pipe bending, print reading, metal cutting machines)
Physical Demand:
Must be able to stand all day
Must be able to lift 25lbs or more
Must be able to work with fiberglass and resins
Must be able to wear a respirator and dust mask
Must be able to wear safety glasses all day
Education:
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
Shift:
Must have the availability to work shifts described below. Overtime may be required based on scheduling needs. Boston Whaler reserves the right to adjust shifts and work times as business needs evolve.
Day Shift: 4/10-hour shifts. 5:00 am -3:30 pm
Monday - Thursday
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
The anticipated pay range for this position is $18.50 to $25.65., hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
