The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is responsible for managing and protecting the state's renewable natural resources, including wildlife and aquatic life.

This position is located ln the Budget Section within the Office of Management and Finance, which is responsible for all functions related to budget development, expenditure control and monitoring, financial analysis, reconciliation and reporting, grants and interagency project accounting, operating cash management, and program financial structure management.
The Budget Analyst 4 will be the technical expert responsible for overseeing the development, monitoring, and analysis of the Office of Wildlife's allocated annual financial budget and will serve as the Federal Grants coordinator. This position will perform highly professional research, analysis, evaluations, policy review and implementation relative to the Office of Wildlife programs, initiatives, and activities. The Office of Wildlife is budgeted over $65M annually in state general funds, self- generated fees ,statutorily dedicated funds ,interagency funds, and Federal funds. This position will advise executive staff, program administrators and staff on budgetary needs and projections to align with LDWF's mission, goals and quarterly performance indicators.
Collaborate with Office of Wildlife executive staff and administrators to create and manage the Office of Wildlife budget, consisting of federal, self-generated, state general funds, statutorily dedicated funds, and interagency funds, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial constraints.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Six years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services; OR
A bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services; OR
An advanced degree in business administration, accounting, finance, public administration, or statistics plus two years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
