Budget Analyst II

Overview Performs work in the preparation, review and presentation of budgets by analyzing budgetary input, history, and performance measures. Formulates budget recommendations and proposes modifications and/or reallocation to existing budgets. Assists with planning, purchasing, property, payroll, reporting, data compilation, analyzing, filing, correspondence, and overall budget management. Performs these functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), Federal regulations, Tribal legislation and Financial Resources' policies and procedures. Qualifications EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting; or six years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT An additional six (6) years of experience in a related field. COMPUTER SKILLS An individual should know Accounting software, Database software, Internet software, Inventory software, Order processing systems, Payroll systems software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
