Budget Office Accountant
Description: Under the supervision of the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Budget and Finance, provide a broad range of routine paraprofessional, accounting technical duties (journal entry preparation and processing, transaction processing), purchasing processing and administrative support services. Prepare various routine and specialized administrative documents and correspondence. Assist in routine aspects of factual research and analysis, and drafting of documentation. Primary Function of Organizational Unit: The Office of Budget and Planning is responsible for directing budget and financial reporting for N.C. A&T State University. The University is over $470 million and is comprised of multiple complex funds and accounts. Preparation of state and federal biennium operating budgets is a key function of this office including the preparation of reports utilized by executive leadership including General Administration and Office of Budget and Management. This office monitors and controls departmental budgets and revenues of the University. In addition, this office establishes sound revenue projections and allotments which permit units to operate efficiently. This office is also responsible for reviewing financial transactions to ensure compliance with University Policies and Procedures. Requirements: Bachelors Degree preferred, High School Diploma or equivalency and 3-5 years of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Knowledge of modern executive office management, practices procedures and equipment . Some accounting experience in process accounting entries, Analytical Skills with arithmetical proficiency -Professional experience in an office setting -Basic research methods and techniques -Currently: Knowledge of modern executive office management, practices procedures and equipment -Basic arithmetical proficiency -Basic research methods and techniques Preferred: 4-7 Years related accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
