Summary About the Position: This is a Budget Officer, GS-0560-13 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Southwestern Division, Fort Worth District, Resource Management Office located in Fort Worth, TX. Responsibilities Serves as District Budget Officer and Chief, Budget and Manpower Management Branch and Cooperative Administrative Services Unit. Administers the District's overall budgetary management system, ensuring the development of plans and policies to implement higher headquarters directives for budget functions. Administers the District's overall budgetary management system. Provides budgetary and technical leadership for the development of cost estimates associated with long-range multi-year projects. Receives, distributes, and administers all funds issued to the Commander, to include annual and multiyear funding program, allotments, allowances, obligation authorities, reimbursable, direct funded and other funded instruments. Provides specific administrative and logistical support to other federal agencies in the region on a reimbursable basis through the Cooperative Administrative Support Unit (CASU). Performs supervisory duties. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications **NOTE: Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 13 months. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) reviewing budget policies or regulations to ensure an organization's budget forecasts, estimates or data submissions conform to financial objectives; OR 2) preparing an operating budget for an organization; AND 3) advising or briefing senior leaders on matters related to budget formulation/execution or manpower management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
