Build Engineer
· We are looking for a strong, motivated and results-oriented Build Engineer with experience in building software products. This is a challenging and key role in the release of products.
Challenges include supporting parallel product development, integration and testing, requiring the individual to be able to work closely with the development and QA teams.
Candidate should be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Candidate needs to be creative and hands-on, capable of coming up with solutions and deploying them into production.
Responsibilities:
Maintain the build environments for products, performing daily builds for release to team, and updating build scripts/environments as needed.
Troubleshooting what goes wrong during server build, no matter whose fault it is
Communicate effectively with engineering teams, assisting them in code management, build deployment and enforcement of software release standards and practices.
Troubleshooting and maintaining configurations on servers once built.
Provide regular status updates to various levels of management.
Documenting various issues and resolution faced during the build process.
Provide feedback on the build automation process and own/drive the process changes.

Requirements:
Excellent general troubleshooting skills. A large part of this job is troubleshooting issues that span multiple technologies and disciplines.
Broad familiarity with networking (routing, TCP/IP, DHCP, firewall configuration), server-class computer hardware, Windows operating systems, computer and network security, directory services and federation, SQL administration, management and monitoring solutions (such as Microsoft SCOM or SCCM), advanced spreadsheet creation, datacenter and enterprise computing environment processes. We are looking for people who also have depth experience and skills in at least two of these areas.
Eagerness to learn in all the above areas, to the point of being able to back up other team members outside your own specialties.
Intermediate scripting skills. We aren’t particular about the language or platform (perl, powershell, jscript, vb, even Windows CMD scripts). Intermediate means scripts that logically branch and can be used to process various collections of input objects, such as computers, network switches, SQL records, and so on.
Familiarity with computer OS installation and configuration automation, such as Microsoft MDT, WDS, Azure, Chef, virtualization technologies, etc. Microsoft SCCM experience is especially valuable.
Technical writing ability sufficient to write procedures or troubleshooting guides for problem resolution. There is a specific expectation for writing such documents to help Tier 1 personnel resolve issues.
Plusses: program or project management experience; experience with .Net or Windows programming; expertise in WMI/WBEM-based queries and configuration; network trace expertise; Cisco, Microsoft or other technical certifications.
