Building and Grounds Attendant

Summary

Under direct supervision the Building and Grounds Attendent keeps a prescribed area in a clean and orderly condition, performing any combination of duties involved in cleaning the premises.

Responsibilities Clean washrooms, furniture and other building cleaning Move office furniture, equipment and supplies when called upon Performs duties in the maintenance of project grounds Keep public area sidewalks clear of debris and snow Dispose of trash and other waste materials Mow lawns using hand or power mowers Spread fertilizer, trim hedges and shrubbery, prune trees, maintain ditches and road embankments Perform general cleanup work along roads and parking area Perform all types of common labor Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Should have knowledge of building cleaning and grounds maintenance Education, Experience and Certifications

Hourly rates for union-represented employees are collectively bargained by the New York Power Authority and IBEW. The negotiated pay rate for this position is $22.19 per hour.
