Role: Built Environment Client Manager/Auditor
Location: Midlands
You would be joining the UK and Ireland Built Environment Sector Team of other subject matter experts. We carry out management system audits on a variety of clients in the sector from Tier 1 contractors to smaller specialist contracts, architects, engineers, project managers etc… We also carry out audits to the construction materials sector for management systems. We form a focus group of construction based experts for the operational teams in BSI and have links to the other relevant parts of the business.
You’ll be managing clients, conducting audits, developing client accounts and be involved in sector development. There is chance to train in further schemes and be involved in developing new and existing schemes and will get to to work with large accounts. You’ll share best practice with colleagues and support clients at all levels in their business to help them make excellence a habit.
For this role:
You will have several years’ experience in the built environment sector and a good working knowledge of quality, environment and health & safety management systems and auditing. The key standards you would audit are ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Experience in National Highway Sector Schemes, collaborative working, sustainable procurement or construction materials would be advantageous. We are looking for someone to be a subject matter expert to help develop and shape the sector and team.
You’ll have skills such as time management, self-management, be an excellent communicator, and have good attention to detail. The BSI behaviours are Client Centric, Agile and Collaborative – all of these help us build great relationships both internally and externally.
The day-to-day role is conducting audits and reports, either on client’s site or from home. The role is home-based and travel is required so you need to be comfortable with daily travel at each end of the working day, and of course you need to hold a full driving licence. Travel is balanced with a proportion of remote audits. The audits can be carried out as a team, however you will be working with clients as the BSI representative alone for a high proportion of the time. It's a busy, but extremely rewarding role.
