Building Consultancy Country Director - France Job ID 177287 Posted 03-Sep-2024 Service line GWS Segment Role type Full-time Areas of Interest Building Surveying/Consultancy Location(s) Paris - Ile-de-France - France Role Purpose As a CBRE Building Consultancy Country Lead, you will lead and grow the local Building Consultancy team. As the country lead you are expected to take ownership of the team, products and business operations in your country to grow the business and further develop the team, products and internal and external relationships. This job is part of the Building Consultancy function. They are responsible for specialist building services including technical due diligence and other surveying and inspections, development monitoring, reinstatement cost assessments, dilapidations advice, and other technical, cost, planning and engineering consultancy. Key Responsibilities + Take ownership of the team, products and business operations in your country, driving growth and profitability. You will be responsible for growing the local P&L and the development of departmental goals and initiatives. + Apply a robust knowledge of multiple disciplines, business, and key drivers that impact departmental and cross-functional performance. + Work closely with the European and Global CBRE Building Consultancy teams in sales and pan-European instructions, and sharing and developing best practice. You will report into the Buildings Consultancy leader for Continental Europe. + Work closely with your country’s Build (project management) and Design manager in country to understand and integrate business operations in the country, contributing to the ongoing success of the team. + Building and fostering relationships with internal teams such as Capital Markets, Valuations and Property Management, to facilitate seamless collaboration and achieve shared objectives. + Actively engage with external local clients, identifying new business opportunities and forging strong partnerships to expand our client base. + Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees. Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Guide team on implementing company initiatives and policies. + Oversee and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed. + Lead by example and model behaviours that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Persuade managers and other colleagues to take action while being guided by the organization's functional business plans. **Person Specification/Requirements** + Bachelor's Degree preferred with relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. + Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred. + Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations, and handle problems. + Leadership skills to set, manage and achieve targets with a direct impact on multiple departments results within a function. + You will need to be diligent and pro-active with the ability to prioritise and act on your own initiative. + Expert organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset. + You are an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, in English and your local language. + In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
