Makes necessary adjustments and repairs as needed to maintain proper function. Performs preventative maintenance on building HVAC , mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other system(s) equipment as assigned. This position is not responsible for providing patient care. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description. **Responsibilities** **Job Responsibilities:** 1. Responds to trouble calls from building occupants and computer alarms. 2. Repairs and troubleshoots HVAC , plumbing, mechanical and electrical building equipment problems. 3. Reviews alarm summaries and makes building system adjustments on the Building Automation Systems. 4. Documents daily building system problems. 5. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on building HVAC equipment such as: chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, VAV boxes, fan coil units, and air handler units. 6. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on building electrical systems such as: motors, VFDs, ATS , lighting, controls, and generators. 7. Fosters an environment of teamwork and growth within the department. 8. This position will participate in a 24/7 on call rotation, and is responsible for both employee’s safety and facilities day and night when assigned on-call duty. **Qualifications:** + 2 years of experience in 1 or more of the following: Facility Maintenance, HVAC /R, Mechanical Electrical, Plumbing ( MEP ) systems, or Construction. + Constructive and effective communications skills. + The ability to cooperate with other shop craftsman and staff. + Valid Utah Driver’s License This job description is not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities and qualifications required of employees assigned to the job. **Minimum Qualifications** Depending on the area of assignment, three years of maintenance and repair experience, or equivalency, in one or more of the following areas is required: pipefitting; heating, air conditioning, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), and steam-operated systems; pneumatic and electronic building control systems; plumbing and refrigeration systems; commercial/industrial laundry equipment; sterilizing equipment; gas/diesel engines and generators; kitchen and cafeteria equipment; mechanical and electrical troubleshooting; and welding. The ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations, effective human relations and communications skills, and demonstrated computer proficiency essential. Incumbents who specialize in refrigeration and air conditioning systems must complete a two year vocational schooling program; possess Environmental Protection Agency certification with a Universal permit to handle refrigerants; and demonstrate a high level of technical expertise. A boiler license may be required for some positions.
