We are looking for a highly motivated & proactive individual with good health & safety awareness and allround DIY skills to work alongside our Building & Facilities Manager to ensure our Torquay School buildings are kept safe, clean and comfortable for our students & staff. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a busy & varied environment often independently, and must have an organised approach to tasks with great attention to detail.The role is 15 hours per week, Wednesday-Friday 08.30-13.30 from 1st of March to 31st August 2025. About the role: Ensure that students and staff at EF Torquay benefit from safe, clean and comfortable facilitiesSupport the Building & Facilities Manager in completing health & safety checksGeneral maintenance tasks around the school siteGrounds work & gardening Minor painting & decoratingHelp troubleshoot IT issues with the support of EF’s central IT teamTo play a role in the maintaining of a ‘joined-up school approach’, where the different departments liaise and interact effectively and efficiently.You are: An enthusiastic & serviceminded individual Passionate about young peopleIndependent and self-driven with an eye for qualityDetail-orientatedLove to get stuck in and roll up sleevesYou have: Trade qualification or diy experienceThe ability to maintain low maintenance groundworks / gardening Excellent communication & people skillsConfidence handling general maintenance issuesFull driving licence & access to vehicle EF is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
