Building Maintenance Technician
**Job Title: Building Maintenance Technician** **Job Description** This role involves traveling 500-2000 miles a week to various commercial outlet stores within the region to complete and perform maintenance work orders. The tasks include painting, plumbing, electrical work, masonry, cleaning, welding, drywall, and lock-related work. The candidate must have strong communication skills to interact with customers and be technically proficient to complete work orders. The technician will primarily work alone but can call for assistance on specific projects. **Responsibilities** + Drive 500-2000 miles weekly to various commercial outlets to perform maintenance tasks. + Perform electrical maintenance, including troubleshooting light poles, changing breakers, and new circuit installations. + Handle plumbing tasks such as drain cleaning and changing toilets, sinks, and faucets. + Execute painting tasks using touch-ups, hand brushes, and spray guns. + Work with drywall, including hanging and finishing with Level 5 capabilities. + Perform masonry tasks, working with brick and stone. + Conduct welding tasks such as MIG, stick, and spot welding for gate hinges or fencing. + Work with residential and commercial pad locks and electrical locks. + Use an app to log hours, document work, and communicate via the internal system. **Essential Skills** + 5+ years of commercial electrical experience including low voltage troubleshooting. + 5+ years of residential/commercial plumbing experience. + Experience with painting, including touch-ups and using spray guns. + Experience with drywall hanging and finishing, including Level 5 finish capabilities. + Masonry experience working with brick and stone. + Welding experience, including MIG, stick, and spot welding. + Experience with residential and commercial pad locks and electrical locks. + Comfortable driving 500-2000 miles weekly in their own work van, SUV, or truck. + Proficient in using an app to log hours and document work. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Hand tools needed include: Angle Grinder, Tape Measure, Multimeter, Channel Locks, Circular Saw, Drywall Tools, Crescent Wrenches, Sander, Impact Driver, Speed Square, Receptacle Tester, Needle Nose Pliers, Socket/Ratchet Set, Reciprocating Saw, Drill/Driver, Levels, Non-contact voltage tester, Lineman Pliers, Oscillating Saw, Battery Power Tools. + PPE recommended: Steel-toe boots (any boot is fine). Saturdays are voluntary if work is behind schedule. Overtime ranges from 10-20 hours a week. Training is provided for the first week. The work environment involves both indoor and outdoor tasks, reaching 3-8 clients a day depending on the project. The candidate will communicate with supervisors and store managers to complete work orders and log hours using an internal database. The position requires traveling 500-2000 miles a week in the candidate's own vehicle. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison/Janesville WI **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
